As we approach another Bank Holiday weekend with an unusual Friday off for VE Day commemorations, I think many people are anxiously waiting to see what Boris will say on Sunday when he unveils his roadmap to get the economy restarted.

As you know we spent a couple of hectic weeks back in March helping you all to work effectively from home. Since then, we have been working hard to help you with any issues that have arisen from that, and especially with the added security risks that has brought.  This seems like a good time to reassure you that we are now fully ready to support you again, as you start to un-furlough your staff and get your businesses back to “normal”, whenever that may be.

Our systems have been monitoring all your key assets, so your servers and backups will have been running and protected exactly as normal, as will any PCs or workstations which have been switched on. However, for any devices which haven’t been used, please don’t leave it till the last minute to turn them on! There may well be updates to apply, or they may have developed problems. More guidance on this will follow next week.

Also please don’t forget the security risks of all these changes. Please keep your staff aware of potential scam emails and phone calls, and make sure that anyone that needs it has our Remote Worker Protection. Finally, many of you now use Microsoft Teams or OneDrive as part of your new IT setup. These systems must be backed up. We have several options for backing up these new technologies, so make sure you speak to us if you have started using them.

We hope you all have a good weekend, be careful not to pre-empt the announcements and to Stay Home despite the tempting weather, and we’ll be in touch again next week once we hear from Boris.

Stay Safe, Stay at Home, Stay in Touch.
