As the year draws to a close, it is a good time to reflect on what has been a very busy year. We have continued to grow, both with new customers and in introducing some exciting technologies that have added new levels of cutting-edge security protection to our clients’ networks.
We started the year knowing that Microsoft’s Windows 7 was becoming End of Life (EoL) in January 2020. This meant that we had the challenge of replacing / upgrading nearly 1100 devices from our clients’ hardware estates. This impacted on several areas of the business such as Sales, Workshop, Installation Engineers and the Support Helpdesk and all involved have worked tirelessly to ensure that we get all of our clients in a good place BEFORE the Windows 7 EoL deadline. With a month to the deadline, we still have a few to do but all clients know what is needed and any remaining outstanding Windows 7 replacements are in hand.
If you are not currently a client but have Windows 7 devices, don’t panic, there is still time for us to help, just get in touch as soon as possible.
Throughout the year, we have steadily added new clients to our portfolio, which is a very encouraging sign in what generally in business has been a year of uncertainty in the economy, with Brexit delays causing business owners to be very cautious with their strategic development and investment plans.
2019 has seen us invest heavily in our own infrastructure and resources, with the recruitment of a new Service Delivery Director (Aaron Swanborough) to lead the operational aspects of the business and James Paterson joined us as Technical Solutions Manager, as part of the deal that saw us merge his company CloudSpark in to our business.
Both Aaron and James bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise to the business and they are great additions to the team.
Our training and development programme is also thriving, with a number of our engineers currently studying for enhanced qualifications, and one of our Apprentices being shortlisted as Finalist in the Suffolk Chamber Business Awards. Great work Daniel 🙂
These new resources have been complemented with investment in new systems and software that is all designed to improve efficiencies and keep us at the leading edge of our sector, and most importantly, keeping our clients supported in the most professional manner.
A major security development this year was the introduction of our Endpoint Detection and Response services. This uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and self-learning technologies to provide an ultimate level of security protection that is significantly more advanced than standard antivirus measures. Our clients are safe in the knowledge that we are providing them with the latest security products & services.
In November, we reached a very important milestone – our 30th Birthday! With us being exceptionally busy, we have opted to delay official celebrations until the early spring, when the weather may also be a little more favourable! Planning is underway and we will of course shout about the arrangements once they are finalised.
So it’s been a good year. We are very proud to be a key part of the local business economy, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank our loyal customers, without who we wouldn’t be here, and some of whom have been with us since the beginning right back in 1989.
On behalf of all the team here at CSSCloud, we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous and healthy New Year.
All the very best for 2020.
